Welcome to Happy Tails Farm!

Our Friendly, Furry Farm

Happy Tails Farm is a delightful place where people of all ages can interact with friendly animals up close. We feature a variety of domesticated miniature sized animals such as goats, chickens, rabbits, mini Longhorn cow, and even a mini Highland cow (soon to join the family at the end of August 2024). Visitors have the opportunity to pet, feed, and hold these animals under the supervision of trained staff.  Reservations are required (no drop-ins please). We have a 11x13ft covered picnic pavilion for shade and shelter from our unpredictable Colorado weather, a handwashing station, and portable bathrooms for your convenience.

Happy Tails Farm is not only entertaining but also educational. We provide a hands-on learning experience about different animals and their behaviors, habitats, and care needs. We offer educational programs or guided tours to enhance visitors' understanding of farm life and animal welfare.

It's a great way to unwind, learn something new, and create lasting memories surrounded by adorable furry friends.

Only the Best for our Animal Family

Our farm family is well loved and deeply cared for! Each animal is given adequate space, access to the outdoors, clean water and air, the opportunity to express their natural behaviors, and healthful feed. When they are not getting loved on during our events, they get to free roam on our 35 acre ranch with our guardian ranch dogs watching over them to keep them safe.

Directions: If you use GPS, Mapquest is the only one that will get you here correctly (27621 Terry Ave, Moffat, CO 81143). Please do not turn into any neighbor's driveways! If you do not see a Happy Tails Farm sign at the gate, you're not at the right place.

From the North: Head South on Hwy 285 from Salida. Go through Villa Grove and continue as if headed to the town of Saguache. Before mile marker 98 on your right hand side (west), you will see a sign on a fence that reads “Blackburn Rd and Russel Rd”, turn right. The road will fork. Stay to the right (follow the arrow sign). Go about 1.7 miles (the road will take you towards the mountains and naturally turn to the right). At 1.7 miles, take a right on the dirt road (again there will be an arrow sign). Happy Tails Farm is at the end of the road. Come on in through the gate and up the long driveway. Parking is perpendicular next to the wooden train car (there will be a parking sign). Wait in the parking area and your host, Melissa, will greet you and bring you inside the fenced in animal area.

From the South:  Head north on Hwy 285 through Saguache (or come up Hwy 17 through Moffat and connect into Hwy 285). Follow the same directions as above, turning onto Russel Rd off Hwy 285 between mile marker 98 & 97.
